I've always found it odd that we usually know our car mechanic, the person that cuts our hair, the person that delivers our mail...but we rarely know one of the most important people, the one that grows our food.
On learning of a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm, I jumped at the opportunity to volunteer.
The farmer was having some difficulty getting the word out, even though the farm is on a main road.
Soooooo.......I had this idea.
You can guess the rest.
After looking at mascot-type veggie costumes that run over $200, I took a chance and got this costume.
Well worth the price, it is a foam one-piece that is slightly gathered at the bottom. It accommodates a wider range of sizes than it claims, so if you are a large person it's still fine.
To make it look filled out, I used bubble wrap and those plastic packing pillows filled with air.
And yes, I stood out by the highway waving ears of corn while...
